A World War II decoration of Nazi Germany awarded to members of the Army, Luftwaffe, Order Police, and Waffen-SS for participating in Nazi Security Warfare (Bandenbekämpfung). The badge was instituted on 30 January 1944 by Adolf Hitler afte recommendation by Heinrich Himmler. Especially on the Eastern Front, the terms "partisan" and "bandit" were applied by the Nazi Security Apparatus to Jews, communists, Soviet state officials, Red Army stragglers, and any other persons deemed to pose a security risk. Rear-area security operations against armed irregular fighters ("pacification actions") were often indistinguishable from massacres of civilians.
The badge existed in three grades:
Bronze, for 20 combat days against "bandits" Silver, for 50 combat days against "bandits"
Gold, for 150 combat days against "bandits

The SS-Ehrendolch (German for "SS Honour Dagger") was a ceremonial weapon of the Schutzstaffel (SS). SS daggers were introduced in December 1933. The daggers were given out at an awarding ceremony that took place on 9 November, the official founding date of the SS, which was conducted according to strict rules developed by Heinrich Himmler. The honour dagger was an official sidearm of the SS dress uniform used by all full members of the SS.
Production was suspended in 1940. The design of the dagger was based on the 16th century Swiss dagger. In 21 June 1936, a variant of the dagger was introduced, which was awarded only to officers who had joined the SS before the Nazis came to power in 1933. The official motto of the SS Meine Ehre heißt Treue ("My honour is loyalty") was etched along the longer axis of the blade.
